There are a few quick steps you’ll need to walk through to ensure that your IDXPro search solution is working hard for you. This outline will give you an idea of what those basic steps are.

Add IDXPro to Your Website

The first thing you’ll need to do before you start generating leads is add IDXPro to your website. IDXPro can be added to any website and the layout can be customized to match your website. For instructions on how to add IDXPro to your website, please read the Help Article on Adding IDXPro to Your Website.

Your IDXPro Admin Menu

The first part of your IDXPro service you’ll need to get familiar with is your IDXPro Admin Menu. This is where you’ll make any changes related to your IDXPro search pages. You can change contact information, edit search settings, monitor client activity and more. You can login to your Admin Menu at any time by going to your IDXPro search page, scrolling to the bottom, and clicking on the IDXPro logo. This will take you to a login page where you’ll need to enter your password to gain access. We’ll take you through a few of the basic functions of your Admin Menu here.

Branding Your IDXPro Search Pages

The first step to making sure you’re getting the most out of IDXPro is to make sure you’ve got accurate contact information, your photo, and your logo on every page of your IDXPro search. With the correct contact information set up for IDXPro, visitors will be more likely to contact you for their real estate needs.

Contact Info:
You can access the contact information area of your IDXPro search solution to verify its contents by logging in to your admin menu and then clicking on the “Agent Profile” tab. The information in the “Contact Info” field is what will appear at the top of every page of your IDXPro search solution, so you need to make sure to double-check the information there. You can use the “Edit” button next to “Contact Info” to change any of the information you’d like, just make sure to use the “Save” button when you’re done making changes.

Photo/Logo:
Also in the “Agent Profile” tab, you will be able to upload your personal photo and your company logo, in the “Photo & Logo” section of this page. Use the “Edit” button to upload or change your photo and/or logo, just make sure to use the “Save” button when you’re done making changes.

Email Settings:
By default your email settings are already set to email all correspondence to the email address you used to set up your account. Your IDXPro service allows for optional advanced email settings. To view and edit optional email settings in the “Email Settings” section of this page and use the “Edit” button next to the section to make changes to these settings. Make sure to use the “Save” button when you’re done making changes.

Choosing Your Page Design

New, with IDXPro 3.0, are some contemporary designs for your IDXPro search page. You can change the style of your IDXPro search page to better match the layout or design of your website. To see the options you have for your IDXPro search pages, you’ll need to login to your admin menu and then click the “Appearance/Content” tab on the far right. To change the layout you can click the “edit” button next to “Current Layout.” Once you’re on the “View/Edit Layout” screen, you can click on the different styles to see a preview in the window to the right. If you’d like to see a larger version of the style, you can click the “Preview” button to view your IDX search page in another window.

Search Settings

You have several options when it comes to deciding how your website visitors can search on your IDXPro page. To change any of the search settings, you’ll login to your admin menu and click on the “Site Settings” tab. You can change the default search page, select cities or counties available for search, or select listing types to display in the “Search Page Options” section. Use the “Edit” button next to this section to change the default settings.

Below the “Search Page Options,” is the “Listing Display Options” section where you can choose display settings such as showing the listing address, sorting search results, displaying your own listings first on search results, providing a “pre-approval for loan” link, or using “New Listings” icons for newly added listings.

Following the “Listing Display Options” you’ll see “Google Map Options.” Here, you can choose the settings for your Google Map display, including choosing to show the Google Map on search results pages, the positioning of the map, and the way listing details are displayed when accessed from the Google Map.

Registration Options

You have a few options when it comes to how you’d like to collect your visitors’ information as they navigate through your IDXPro search pages.
Your options are as follows, require visitor to register before viewing listing detail (IDXPro recommended), require visitor to register before viewing search results, or not requiring registration at all.

Other options you should consider is whether or not you’d like to make a phone number a mandatory part of the visitor registration process. Additionally, you have the opportunity to further qualify your visitors as they register by creating questions to ask that help you understand better what they’re looking for. You might ask how soon they’re planning to buy a home, or whether or not they have an agent, etc. You can view your visitor registration options in the “Site Settings” tab of your admin menu under “Registration Options.”
